“THE BIBLE: The Only Inspired Creed”

Richard Thetford

I n the denominational world you can find creed books that are used in addition to the Bible. Yet the apostle Paul tells us that "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works" (2 Tim 3:16-17). From these two verses we see that we have everything that we need contained in His word, given by God, that it will lead us (if we let it) to be perfect as God is perfect (Matt 5:48). No creed book that has been developed by man is inspired of God.

The Bible meets the needs of the whole world. The message of what is to preached to the whole world is contained within its scriptures (Mark 16:15). The Bible is completely pure (Psa 119:140), perfect (Psa 19:7), and enduring (Luk 21:33; 1 Pet 1:25).

We Shall Be Judged By It!

In John 12:48 it says: "He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day." Since it is the words of Christ contained in the only inspired book, the Bible, that will judge us, then why would anyone want to follow a man made creed? It is certain that we will be judged by the holy book of God and therefore we better be abiding by the law that Christ has given - not man!

Human Creeds

Human creeds are not inspired of God. God's word tells us what will happen to individuals that add to or subtract from His inspired word (Rev 22:18-19). Those that transgress and abide not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God (2 John 9). In addition, human creeds do not meet the needs of the whole world, they are not perfect, they are revised every few years (God's word is constant), we will NOT be judged by them, they teach many things that are contrary to the word of God, and they keep people divided on the question of religion! Friend, is the Bible the only creed that rules your life?
