In C. R. Nichols Pocket Bible Encyclopedia he spells out where “grace” is found. Grace is found all through the pages of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Holy Bible! We learn from the scriptures that grace came by Jesus Christ. In John 1:17 it says: “For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.” God offered His grace to man in the form of Jesus who went to the cross and died for us so that we can have forgiveness of sins. In the chart above it says that “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us...”(Titus 2:11-12). We are taught about the grace of God through His inspired word (2 Tim 3:16), the Bible. Then when we obey the teachings (which includes baptism) contained within His Word, we are saved by His grace. Paul writes: “even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved)” (Eph 2:5). He also wrote to the Romans: “through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God” (Rom 5:2). We learn that we get into His grace through faith. When we are obedient to Jesus (Matt 7:21), then we can rest in His grace. But we must continue to abide in His grace, being faithful always or we can fall from His grace. In Galatians 5:4 Paul writes: “You have become estranged from Christ, you who attempt to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace.” We must be determined to read the gospel of Christ to gain faith, then continue in faith always to stand in His grace.
